GAMOS 5.0.0 (under test)

The first thing you have to do to install GAMOS is decide which is the installation directory, what we call here MY_INSTALLATION_DIR, which can be for example c:\gamos

- Download the GAMOS.5.0.0.zip in this directory and uncompress it: you have to be sure that the files end into the directory MY_INSTALLATION_DIR\GAMOS.5.0.0 and MY_INSTALLATION_DIR\external. This can be done by using and uncompression software like Winzip or 7-zip and selecting "uncompress here"; be careful because the Windows 7 or 8 native uncompression software uncompress this file creating MY_INSTALLATION_DIR\GAMOS.5.0.0\GAMOS.5.0.0 and MY_INSTALLATION_DIR\GAMOS.5.0.0\external, so you have to move directories one level up

- For running GAMOS you have to install ROOT software, version 5.34.10. You can do it from the ROOT site, or directly from here. It is important that it is installed in the proper directory under MY_INSTALLATION_DIR, as this is where GAMOS automatically looks for it (see Users Guide to change this directory). Therefore you have to select "Custom" installation and select the installation directory to be MY_INSTALLATION_DIR\external\root\5.34.10\root

- It may happen that your windows .NET framework version is old and you need to update to version 4. If this is your case, you can download it from the Microsoft site or directly from here

- If you still find an error message saying that the libraries msvcr100d.dll or msvcp100d.dll is not found, you may download them from here: msvcr100d.dll, msvcp100d.dll. Copy them to the directory MY_INSTALLATION_DIR\external/root/5.34.10/root/bin

- If you are using windows XP 32-bits you may need to install before the Windows Installer 3.1 from the Microsoft site or directly from here and the Windows Imaging Component from the Microsoft site or directly from here

- To run GAMOS you may do it with the GAMOS Graphical User Interface, which will be at MY_INSTALLATION_DIR\GAMOS.5.0.0\GAMOSGUI.exe . You will see that the very first time it is run, it opens a window to configure the GAMOS paths. It you do not see this windows opened then your installation is not correct.

- Read the GAMOS User's Guide for further details on how to run GAMOS

We recommend you to do yourself one of the tutorials after installation
